Dragon Study

I've been trying to improve my big reptilian skills lately. Here's the result. Things got a little noodley towards the end. Next time I'll plan it out a little better. Man, I wish I had someone kicking my butt to get this stuff right 10 years ago.

yeah. i know. because that dragon sucks. (whatev)

i do understand the need to "have had your butt kicked 10 years ago," but since you are now kicking so much butt with your art, i think you're in good shape.

I don't see the noodle-ism in this here reptile but it still looks delicious.

Awesome dude. Your painting skills are sick. I really like the nose design, the near vertical line of the nose and mouth. Very, very cool.

Dig the contrast of upper/lower plating, and how the light stuff peeks through the cracks of the dark stuff. Unified!

Man, that looks really cool. The skin's awesome on the snout and I like the overall structure.

But yeah, you're a slacker for not being a complete bad-ass 10 years ago. Geez. :)

wow! you've got mad painting skills that go along nicely with your fantastic drawing skills. i like that you didn't overwork the neck region and allowed your eyes to be drawn to the detail in the snout. i can't wait to see what comes next.

Wow! This packs a major punch. I love your skills. The whole mouth area in general kicks major butt. And the lighting on the skin texture.... ahgahfpffffft! This is really inspirational!
